The major changes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improved compatibility with Microsoft&#8217;s latest OS, Windows Server 2016.<\/li>\n<li>Several annoying <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dell.com\/support\/article\/us\/en\/19\/SLN288643\/what-is-data-execution-prevention--dep--?lang=EN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Data Execution Prevention (DEP)<\/a> issues on Windows 8 &amp; 10 were resolved.<\/li>\n<li>A new command line switch to grant the service user access to the current desktop was introduced.<\/li>\n<li>When stopping a group of services, an alert is no longer shown when a long-lived service exceeds the 1-minute time limit.<\/li>\n<li>If necessary, the service account is now granted full access to the window station and desktop objects when starting in the current session.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As usual, please review the <a href=\"\/products\/AlwaysUp\/VersionHistory.html\">version history<\/a> for the full list of features, fixes and improvements included in this release.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Upgrading to AlwaysUp Version 10<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>As per our <a href=\"\/products\/AlwaysUp\/AlwaysUp_FAQ.html#upgrade\">upgrade policy<\/a>, customers who purchased AlwaysUp 9 (after September 2014) can upgrade to version 10 at no additional cost. Just download and <a href=\"\/products\/AlwaysUp\/AlwaysUp_FAQ.html#upgrading\">install &#8220;over the top&#8221;<\/a> to preserve your existing applications an all settings. Your registration code will continue to work.<\/p>\n<p>If you bought AlwaysUp version 8 or earlier (before September 2014), you will need to upgrade to use version 10.
