Download and install the Jottacloud Windows client, if necessary:

Download and install AlwaysUp, if necessary.

Start AlwaysUp.

Select Application > Add to open the Add Application window:

On the General tab:

In the Application field, enter the full path to the Jottacloud executable, Jottacloud.exe.
On our machine, where we installed the program in the default location, this is:
C:\Program Files\Jottacloud\Update\Data\Current\Jottacloud.exe

In the Start the application field, choose Automatically, but shortly after the computer boots.
That causes AlwaysUp to launch the executable a couple of minutes after boot. By then, all the critical supporting services should be
up and running.

And in the Name field, enter the name that you will call this application in AlwaysUp.
We used Jottacloud for this tutorial but you can enter virtually any name you like:

Switch to the Logon tab and enter the user name and password of the Windows account where you installed and configured Jottacloud.
Jottacloud must run in this account so that it can find its settings.

Move to the Startup tab and check the Ensure that the Windows Networking components have started box.
This tells AlwaysUp that Jottacloud needs TCP/IP networking support to do its work.
We also recommend checking the Stop all copies of the application running on this computer and the boxes below.
Those options will ensure that the instance of Jottacloud launched by AlwaysUp takes precedence over others running in the account:

Click the Save button. In a couple of seconds, an application called Jottacloud will show up in the AlwaysUp window.
The service is installed but it's not running though:

Before we start Jottacloud as a Windows Service, we must prevent a second copy from starting when you log on. To do so:

Start Jottacloud, if necessary.

Right-click the Jottacloud tray icon

and select Settings from the menu.

Uncheck the Launch Jottacloud at startup box. That setting is misleading because it only starts the program after you log in:

Exit Jottacloud. Right-click the tray icon and select Quit Jottacloud.

To start Jottacloud from AlwaysUp, choose Application > Start "Jottacloud".
After a couple of seconds, the state will transition to "Running":
Note that you won't see Jottacloud's icon in the task bar (nor will you see the nice icons in your Jottacloud folder) because
Jottacloud is running in the background (in Session 0),
but your files will be synchronized as normal.
Choose Application > Start "Jottacloud" in this Session if you wish to start Jottacloud on your desktop and interact with its tray icon.

That's it! Next time your computer boots, Jottacloud will start up immediately, before anyone logs on.
We encourage you to edit the Jottacloud entry in AlwaysUp and check out the many other settings that may be appropriate for your environment.
